Monte Blanco and bamboo

¡Hola, amigos costeños!
I just got from visiting my new friend, Pablo Hernández, in the village of Monte Blanco near the town of Teocelo, Veracruz, about 20-30 minutes from Xalapa. Pablo has a bamboo nursury and makes beautiful furniture with unique designs out of this incredible material. Monte Blanco has an incredible lookout point where you can see the lush sugar cane fields and the steep cañon below.

Oh, that would be a great place to visit. I am a big fan of the utility of bamboo, and was actually wondering about bamboo culture and use in Mexico and expecially in the Xalapa area a few days ago. It seems like it'd be a great area for bamboo farming, especially the large timber bamboos.
