XM radio near Guadalajara airport?

I'm a no-tech type, so forgive me if this is a dumb question.
I'll be in Guad. for 3 months, about ( I'm told ) 15 min. from the airport, in El Castillo.
Would being near an airport have anything to do w. quality of xm reception?

1st. post - nervous :>) Thanks, Kathi in Vernon B.C.

Don't worry about the airport. Mine works fine here in Ajijic. I say this to you while listening to CHJM 730 AM Vancouver, on my Star Choice Receiver.

Your XM Radio will work fine as long as you have line of site to the South with an upward look angle of about 60 degrees to one of the XM satellites

May you have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year too. I am about to have Christmas Eve dinner with a German National (and bride) who went to school just South of you in Kelowna, leaving just before the forest fires hit in the summer of 2003.

Yes bring your XM Radio and if TV is important, bring your Star Choice, but make sure that if you do that you bring the larger satellite dish, the 75E not the 60E.

Pete, you did real good until the last sentance. This person said they were the non technical type and I bet they do not know the difference a 75E is from a 60E, a 30-30, a IEEE 488 or a lot of other wonderful numbers you can throw out.

BTW, Merry chirstmas and Happy New Year.

Hey Shoe, Merry Christmas and all that jazz. Yea, I should have written that Star Choice offers two elliptical dishes, The larger of the two, labeled the 75E is what one needs down here. It measures 36 by 26 inches.

Much better Pete, and have a happy Mew Year or at least as good as this one was. You made it through it and the alternative is not good.

YOUNG? Smile I just got back from the Doctor's office. Daisy is getting so old that she can't hold it any more and had to get an estrogen shot.

Yep, even weimaraners (spelling?) get old.
