Hey, I have an old SEVEN WATT analog phone, with a big ol antenna. Might I still get some use from it in Mexico? Or shall I let the Smitsonian have it back?

On an analog network, and I don't know if there are many of those still in Mexico, it will work much better than current phones. Lots more power. I've picked up analog networks near the border but not farther south. THey won't show up though on my digital phone if there are digital towers in range. It would be worth a try but can you get it programmed for a current cell company? That would be the question.

I really don't know what I am talking about when it comes to cell phones but the cheap Telcel cell phones are analog along the shores of Lake Chapala. The more expensive ones are GSM.
