Can any one tell me a source for information and pictures of the cuidad de Manzanillo. I am not interested in living on the beach with the snow birds etc. Is it possible to find desent housing in that village.

I suggest you try a few of the Manzanillo sites like:

Manzanillo, being the biggest Mexican container seaport (approximately 1000 acres) is a lot more than a beach tourist town.

There is lots of affordable, decent housing in the downtown area on the mountainsides. Living on the mountainside has some advantages -- housing is inexpensive, you won't need to join a gym to get your daily exercise, there are more cooling breezes up there, the views are great, and you'll be above the mosquito zone.

Look here for non-tourist views of Manzanillo including a lot on the mountainsides.

Thank you both Shoe and Rolly for the information. Have either of you been to or have any knowledge of the Hotel Colonial in el centro or any other hotel?

Hotel Colonial is a wonderful old place in downtown MZ. Very low cost. Some rooms have A/C. It has a lot more charm than the expensive tourist places on the other side of the bay.

You might what to check a little further inland. Colima, Colima is a beautiful city.
