I mention this because there has been so little coverage of damage from Hurricane Stan on the U.S. media. Those of you who may be planning road trips in the near future to the Mexican states of Oaxaca, Chiapas, Veracruz, Tabasco, Puebla and Hidalgo or through these places to Guatemala or El Salvador should check your itinerary carefully as there are numerous destroyed and/or damaged and closed roadways and bridges throughout those areas. It is still raining heavily as of October 6th in many of these places and the final damage is yet to be assessed. You might want to rethink altogether going into Guatemala or points south at this time or visiting beaches in Oaxaca or Chiapas states. This according to the Mexican national media which is extensively covering the devastation..
