Going off topic and back towards Mexico, did you know that Castro and his small band trained in Veracruz around Tuxpan while waiting their moment to return? There's a small museum, El Museo Historico de la Amistad Mexico-Cuba, across the river from here in Santiago de la Peña. When he and his band shoved off in their boat, the Granma, they left from here and sailed down the Rio Tuxpan.
btw, next year will be the 50th anniversary of Castro's departure from Mexico and arrival back in Cuba
The museum isn't very interesting unless you're a died in the wool Che Guevara fan.
There's a photo of Che Guevara holding a golf club on the wall of the clubhouse at the local course. It wasn't taken here though.]
