Zapotlán El Grande (Ciudad Guzmán) sits about 70 miles south of Guadalajara on the road to Colima, Colima. The town has a population of over 100,000 and is growing. They have almost all major car dealerships, with good shopping. A La Marina Department store, Gigante, Soriana and a Walmart on the way. Have several hospitals, a tech school and a campus for the University of Guadalajara. They also have a lake.. They had a storage warehouse to store racing shells, but after the heavy rain last year the lake overflowed and surrounded their warehouse. They also had to reroute the libre after the lake overflow. The warehose is still accessible if you want to walk through the water in the parking lot. The town has several nice hotels and restaurants. About 1 1/2 hour drive to Guadalajara and 40 minute drive to Colima, Colima. They have a good state highway to take one throughTonaya, Autlan and then to Melaque on the beach. Maybe a two hour drive to Manzanillo using the cuota. A good town in a good location.
