SPAM

I have had a MexConnect email account now for 2 years. During that time I have sent perhaps two emails and received the same amount. Perhaps during that same 2 year period I receive one or two spam. Although I occasionally check my account there had been no activity in it since mid 2004, until this July that is. When I checked for this first time this month I found 35 spam therein, nothing else. Although this is not many for 3 weeks, it is very many for an in-active account, for an account with an email address is not out there on the Ethernet. It suggests that something is wrong.

The question is what? Could it be that the persons providing this email service for MexConnect via a mail server somewhere, I think in Florida, are NOT running a good anti spam program?

Hey it's no big deal. I just mention this because it was such a shock to receive so many spam in a supposedly inactive account

Very interesting Pete, I just checked my Mexconnect email and it has 32 SPAM messages in it and I never use this email. All the messages arrived between 7/6 and 7/20 of this year. Then they stopped. I also wonder what happened to cause this. Maybe others should check their email if they do not normally use it to see if they are getting the same type of SPAM. It looked like the messages were investor type of SPAM. I did not open any to find out for sure.

I have been getting about 1 piece of spam per hour. The settings on email to refuse certain sites, does not work. None of the anti spam stuff works. I can tell it to refuse any mail with certain things in the subject but it doesn't work. I'm perplexed.
