My husband has used a CPAP machine for 25 years. We purchased a new one to bring with us when we moved to Mexico 8 years ago (the original one was working fine and we still have it for back-up). We tried to locate a supplier for parts, etc. when we first got here and had no luck. We haven't tried again and that was 8 years ago. There may well be someone now. We order parts on-line (just Google CPAP) and have them sent to friends and family in Texas to bring down when they come. We always keep an extra mask and an extra hose on hand. We've had absolutely no problems whatsoever. Knowledge about apnea among Mexican doctors varies greatly. Prior to some cosmetic surgery by a very prominent surgeon I had to explain what apnea was to the doctor and that he could not be given a general anesthetic, could not be given benzodiazapine and that it was imperative that he have a pulse-oximeter machine after the surgery. He had another surgery (this one at IMSS, I must add) and when I told the doctor he had sleep apnea he said "Oh, then we'll use a spinal block and be sure and bring his CPAP machine with him to the hospital". We were floored! We were told there is very little information about apnea here but supposedly is a very small sleep center somewhere in Mexico City. Hope this helps. Feel free to PM me if I can help.
