We had our 'menage de casa' brought from California to Veracruz in 2000. What we did is go to the Mexican Consulate in San Jose, CA., where they gave us some forms to fill, which had mostly to do with electrical appliances brands, models, and serial numbers, then they took these papers, processed them and gave them back to us. The papers were given to the moving van people and the merchandize arrived here in Veracruz, without having to shell out any money, other than the cost of the moving van. My wife was also Mexican citizen at the time, and perhaps this helped, but I don't know for sure. Good luck ! I live in Boca del Rio, the south city on metropolitan Puerto de Veracruz. I don't believe that you need to see any 'aduana' brokers to get your stuff in here.
