I can't help much with shipping rules and methods, but one artist friend of mine (a painter) had an interesting experience in trying to send one of his paintings from Mexico to a client in the States via DHL worlwide express service. The people at DHL refused to ship the painting without first getting permission from the "cultural authorities" in Mexico City! (He lives in Sonora...) Even when my friend explained that he was the artist who did the painting, so it couldn't be considered a case of sending one of Mexico's cultural treasures across borders, they still refused to budge. Might be worth calling your nearest DHL office to find out what they have to say... HTH, K.H.
