I wasn't going to post this until it is finished, but I kind of let it slip on another forum, so...

I am making an illustrated glossary of building terms in Mexican Spanish. It is far from finished, in fact, it may never be finished. Anyway, if you want to see what I have thus far, you can get there from here: http://rollybrook.com/building_directory.htm

Suggestions, corrections and words for the blank spaces are most welcome. So are more pictures.

Looks great. When I order gas for the tank you describe, I order a "cylindro" de gas. A "tanque" is used when the tank is large and there is a fill pipe opposed to just switching out tanks.

It's going to take some time to read the whole thing. Good job!

Great work, Rolly.

I have a english / spanish construction dictionary (CABO book). I will send you some things when our own construction is done.

Work has been slowed considerably due to funding. Fewer workers, but we are still 100% engaged.

Beautiful job. I remember struggling to communicate the simplest things when we started out six years ago. Your project is going to be a great resource for anyone who is going to do the work themselves or hire contractors. For what it is worth, sand is "polvo" when you are mixing cement in Yucatan.

Here in Chapala, scaffolding is usually two metal Tambos (barrels, probably a corruption of tambor -Drum), with planketas- planks, laid over the tops.

Empty tambos sell for 85 pesos each. You can purchase them with top cut off or not.

You are amazing, as usual! What a great project. This information will be invaluable to those who take on the task of building.

I noticed a word or two that are different from what we use here, but I would attribute that to our living some distance from you.

Please let me know words that you find different in your area. I am very interested in including regional differences.

I keep telling myself that I must go back to work on this project. Mañana... Perhaps when I get this damn computer working right again...
