Spanish Language School on the border

Hello all,
This website is great, what a high yield of quality information!
Does anyone have any suggestions for a spanish language school on either side of the border near McAllen, TX. I will be relocating there next month for a new job. I am excited about the idea of learning some Spanish and exploring some of Mexico from there. I have performed the usual web searches but found nothing so far.
Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Try some of the religious organizations. There is a group that runs a well recognized Spanish school in Edinburg. I have met several pastors of Evangelical churches here in Mexico who learned their Spanish there. The Seventh Day Adventists used to run a well recognized school in Brownsville. I went there for six months. They also run a world recognized Spanish Language school of the total immersion type for Doctors and businessmen in Linares near Monterrey. I made arrangements to attend there for a month but my money evaporated and I never went. But a month there is guaranteed to have the Doctors and businessmen and you speaking with sufficient fluency to make Mexico a pleasure for the rest of their/your life. There are many fly-by-night schools all over Mc Allen, none of which I can recommend.

But the ones above, I can recommend without any worries.
Good luck.

Adios. jerezano.
