Personally, I very much enjoy the posts of Bubba and Palomares, and believe their stirrings of the pot contribute much more to these fora than, say, the rantings of a self-appointed chief of the Webboard PC Police.

To the point, my info is here for all to see. I'm not ashamed of who I am and am quite willing to take any heat my opinions may generate. Flame me all you want; if you're not in my address book, your email will be shunted into the junk mail folder, which I delete every day without looking at any of it.

Russell, I wish you hadn't posted your photo. You and I look a bit alike, and I wouldn't want to be mistaken for a Texan. :-)

See you at Tom's,

GA

Humor, sarcasm are by all means encouraged. Everyone has a different style.

Right. And the Easter Bunny lays eggs once a year. I like the multicolored ones with the chocolate inside. It all seems to depend on who's got the finger on the button and what fine line they're drawing between "humor" "sarcasm", "trolling" and so on. As for the land of the disappeared, check out the population. They're probably a fun group.

Hi,

I'm Ron. I've written a thing or two, but not much. I live and work in Oregon. I have a Ph.D and am an educational researcher. I am married and have been for 27 years. We vacation in Mexico - on the Caribbean coast. We prefer staying at small hotels when we do, and have done so on the beach road (Boca Paila) south of Tulum, in Playa del Carmen and on Isla de Mujeres.

With each successive vacation we have strayed farther from the tourist parts of places we have stayed. On the last one we spent time in a condo in a mixed ex-pat / Mexican neighborhood. We are considering moving to Mexico when we retire. As much as we have enjoyed the Caribbean coast, I suspect the summers may be too hot and the costs going up too rapidly for our tastes. Also, when I asked an ex-pat there about theatre, he replied "Yes, we have movie theaters." Some cultural events are nice.

We still have a lot of exploring to do. While some will get done before we finagle early retirement, much of it will wait until then. It is difficult to take several months off while working, but I have hopes of doing a sabbatical of 3 months in a couple of years, followed by retirement a couple of years after that, give or take a year or two (depends, you know, on things like investements and property appreciation here).

I think we could live happily in Mexico, but you never know, ya know, until more time is spent there. There are issues with the language, particularly for Kathy, who speaks no Spanish at this time. We are somewhat adventuresome and have good senses of humor.

I, unlike Jennifer, am a liberal who is unhappy with the electoral results in the USA. That is all right as long as we get to take turns being unhappy :).

I flunked show and tell in kindergarden. I hope the above is worth a C, anyway :)
