Looking for Lake Chapala Lutherans

Can't Post | Private Reply
My husband and I recently returned from our first Ajijic visit. Using Teresa Kendrick's Insider's Guide to the Northshore, we called the numbers listed under Lakeside Lutherans. We were unable to understand the Spanish speakers and had expected English speakers. We also stopped at LCS and no one had any suggestions. Does anyone know how to contact the Lutherans in Ajijic-Joco-Chapala area? Is there any organized group? or are we looking for something that does not exist?

Here is my take on this question about Lutherans. Of course there is the traditional Catholic church. The masses not well attended. Much the same as when I traveled to Italy.

Then the religious community splits, much like the election results in the USA. You have the neo-con right - "Baptist types" (born-again, NRA supporters, Pro-Birth (not life) on one side & the other is the free-thinkin (open to all beliefs) "Open Circle" - lefties.

Not much in between, like the main stream denominations, Methodists, Lutherans, Presbyterians.

Here in the Portland, OR area these old churches are dying and the big growth is charismatic - rock and roll music - "Halleluya Jesus" - save me now! approach.

Just my observation.
