Newbie 97 Wants to Know How to Do Quotes

Can't Post | Private Reply
Been with Mex Connect since 1997. Trouble handling the technological advances! Call me a newbie here!

If I want to refer to just a specific portion of a previous post, (Quote) how do I get that down into my answer?

K I S S guys. Be patient. This is really beyond me.

The damn Quote function does not always work. It has never worked for me. Skip it. Just use the old Copy & Paste. You'll be happier and live longer. Smile

Not a problem, Newbie.

Put your cursor at the beginning of what you want to copy. Then hold down the left mouse button and move the cursor to the end of what you want to copy.

Release the left mouse button, and click on "Edit" at the top of your browser window, then click on "Copy".

Then open the page you want the quote to be on. Put the cursor where you want the copied material to go, then click on "Edit" and "Paste."

That ought to do it, if you're running Windows. If you're on a Mac, I can't help.

Copyng text on a Mac is pretty similar. Using the mouse you highlight the text. Release the mouse and press the command key (the one with the apple next to the space bar AND the "C' key.

Place your cursor where you want the text and press command AND "V" key. That should do it .
