ETN Bus Service to Laredo

Can't Post |
I understand that ETN has excellent bus service to Laredo and McAllen for
about $85. How does one go about buying/reserving a ticket? Their website
does not work. I live in Chapala. Thanks for any help.

If you speak Spanish, you can call them and reserve your ticket over the phone. The phone number from Chapala is 01-33-3600-0477. They do accept credit cards, or you can reserve your seat and then go to the new bus station (near Tonalá) in advance to pay in cash. I recommend the latter.

Futura another Estrella Blanca line, isn't bad either. I just did Laredo to SMA last night... not bad at all. AC, movies, WC, good seats, beats the "polleros" of yesteryear. They say you can buy your tickets in advance at any electra. Have a safe trip.

Oro is right, try Turistar Ejecutivo (Módulo 7 at the new bus station near Tonalá) to McAllen or Laredo. The Ejecutivo is even better than ETN; the regular Turistar is as Oro said. Same suggestion about credit card/calling/picking up the ticket, though. The phone for Turistar is 01-33-3679-0404. ETN takes a different route. Sorry to mislead you before, mea culpa.

Different strokes for different folks

In my experience, which is considerable, Turistar Ejecutivo, while perhaps being the only sleeper bus on many of its routes from the border, is, well, I describe it as a "Second Class Luxury Bus". At times, there is no paper or water in the bathroom. And, until they started buying new buses in the last year or two, they were poorly maintained.
However, I don't do overnight sit-up buses, so to me Turistar is like Listerine. (You know, the taste you hate twice a day.)

Visitor? Do you have a suggestion, for overnight travel from the border?

Thanks for your input but then what do you suggest? How do you get from the border into central Mexico beside driving or flying?
: In my experience, which is considerable, Turistar Ejecutivo, while perhaps being the only sleeper bus on many of its routes from the border, is, well, I describe it as a "Second Class Luxury Bus".
