I've been looking for granite. Last summer I found in the yellow pages a shop in Morelia that sells it. When I went there, all they had was this terrazo like stuff. Anyone know where to find granite? Queretaro would be perfect but I'm willing to travel a little to get what I want.

Speaking of stone, I saw beautiful stone tile in buildings throughout Puebla. Any more local source?

I went through the same agony when I installed my granite kitchen counters in my home in Morelia. Canteras de Michoacan, at Cuautitlan #267, Col. Guadalupe, Morelia (443.316.8515) has granite and marble. Originally, I was going to install Corian, but I wasn't satisfied that the store actually knew how to get the epoxy seam with the sink, so I went with granite, which turned out to be far less expensive.

But you live in San Miguel de Allende, no? Ask an architect there to guide you to a source closer to you.
