Are there any security companies (ie, ADT or the equivalent) in the Chapala/Ajijic area?

We had ADT put in our wireless system over three years ago with no problems. At that time the basic system was free and you had to pay an additional 500p for each additional unit. They do doors, windows, and motion detectors. They also give you a panic button, like a car door remote lock. We give it to the maid when we are away so she can get in to clean. She gets no passwords. The panic button will silently summon the police IMMEDIATELY if both buttons are pushed at the same time. The monthly cost is about $40 now

BTW no one on our street has ever had a problem and some houses are left empty for months at a time without incident. We just want the insurance value.

Just wanted to put a p.s. on this. We just had the ADT installed and hubby is over the moon. They're very professional, show up as promised and the cost is about $40 a month. We did have to pay for the basic system plus the extras that we wanted, but it was just a smidge under $400--worth every penny. I definitely prefer that than ugly, heavy metal bars over a beautiful view.
