Did you know that you can change the settings on your TV and convert that Spanish language program to English on some of the cable channels? That’s right, last night I was able to change the language from Spanish to English on 4 channels, increasing the number of channels I could receive in English to 15 here on the Ajijic-Chapala TeleCable cable system. On better TV sets you can choose three sound options, “mono”, “stereo” and “SAP”. SAP stands for Second Audio Program. Up north the SAP option often got us French or Spanish instead of English. In Mexico, choosing the SAP option will provide you access to English, should the program you are watching be available in both Spanish and English. By choosing SAP, I was able to increase the number of channels on cable that were available in English by four in Ajijic, the exact number will depend on your cable company.
