Absolutely fantastic steak dinner at Romano's

We went to Romanos (#93 Macias, closed Sun & Mon) the other night with friends and I was told the rib-eye steak was good and large enough for 2 people to split. That's what we did and WOW! it was incredible! It was the best, tenderest, most flavorful steak I have ever had in Mexico and it was among the top 5 I've had anywhere including very high end steak houses in SF. We talked to the owner and he says that he buys the whole loin (I think that was the word he used) from the US, ages it himself and doesn't cut the steak until it is ordered. It was huge, perfectly cooked, accompanied by fresh vegetables al dente and we were both full after splitting one order. We wished we had each ordered though so that we would have some to take home. So, the next night we went back and this time we not only ate our fill but had enough for another large dinner at home. It's a long narrow restaurant with several small dining areas going back into the block. At the back there is an outdoor patio with a huge screen TV and they play concert DVD's. Our first night we sat there and watched Santana and Friends, a great concert with lots of guest stars including my fav Dave Matthews. We were with 4 other couples and had the whole dining patio to ourselves. Our friends ordered pasta (with meatballs, good review) and pizza (excellent crust and imaginative toppings) and raved about them as well. The drinks were well made and strong and the service was good. I had to write and recommend this place if you are in San Miguel. I think even Bubba would be hard pressed to fault anything. I didn't keep track of the exact bill but on our second night we had 2 separate steak dinners, several (4 or 5) margaritas and the bill was around $600 pesos.
