preparing wood

The exposed beams of my new patio/veranda will be wood. Has the wood in Mexican lumber yards been pressure treated? Does it have a mill glaze that needs to be removed before applying a sealer? Thanks.

Your questions don't have a yes or no answer. Wood comes in many forms. You must check the wood that is used or tell your builder what you want.
