There's a powdered buttermilk substitute available some places which you mix with whole milk and let sit to make what is supposed to be a workable buttermilk. It tasted lousy and didn't make the Irish soda bread Norma attempted get the texture it should. She then used lemon juice in milk and let it sit overnight, as one source recommended, but it still just wasn't the same. Anybody have any other ideas on how to make some version of true buttermilk here? Carol Schmidt
