Health Insurance

Can't Post | Private Reply
I heard that it is possible to buy health insurance directly from an hospital in Mazatlan. Can anyone tell me what kind of health insurance is available? Government insurance, private insurance, direct hospital insurance? Can anyone join? Even with pre-existing conditions (that would include most persons over 65)? Or do I have to get insurance before I turn 65?
Thanks,
Claire

I'm pretty sure there is no insurance that is sold directly from any hospital in Mazatlan. With Mexican health insurance companies, at least the ones I am familiar with, you have to be enrolled before you are 65. The government IMSS system is pretty stressed out at this time but I believe anyone with an FM-3 can buy into the system. Pre-existing conditions, with any company, will probably affect your policy and may affect your eligibility. Email me privately or send a private message and we can talk further.
