Are there accomodations for the budget traveler in Acapulco or nearby? I don't like large resorts but a place on the beach would be nice. I'm interested in taking the bus to Taxco. Are there other interesting areas to explore by bus nearby? I'll only be there for a week.

Near the zocolo, with large garden courtyard, is Hotel Mision.
In Taxco try a rooftop (3rd floor) room at the Hotel Casa Grande. Try to be there for a Saturday silver market.<p>pernel
