Rainy season

I heard that this time of the year is the absolute worst to visit Mazatlan due to the rain and humidity. Would I still be able to get a take on the area and check it out for possible retirement........or would the weather sort of dim my view of an otherwise beautiful area?

No, the rains don't hit just yet and in fact I think I was here for 3 years before I even saw rain! Our hottest and most humid weather seems to be September and October as we approach traditional hurricane (and big storm) season at that time. The storms are usually at night and the skies are sunny during the day. The tourists are having a great time on the beaches right now so come on down.

If you look at the history of Mazatlan's weather, you'll see that the months of July, Aug and Sept have the most rain. Like 6 to 8 inches. However, that's just what the averages are. The rains aren't bad anyway as they cool the temps down about 15 degrees. It feels great. They are very refreshing. For the past, about 5 years, we've been experiencing drought conditions. I'm not sure what percentage the reservoirs are measuring but I'll keep looking in the paper for some evidence.
So far, no real rain.

Good to hear........we, on the other hand, have been soaked with rain for the past 17 days and not much end in sight. It is very unusual for this part of Texas to get so much rain. I think I heard it is the wettest June since the late 1800's. Anyway, Lots of water, floods, rivers out of their banks...etc. My business is a shaved ice stand right between a major river and lake in the San Antonio area. Needless-to-say business has been awful. I was counting on sales from this week and the 4th holiday to finance my trip to PV, Tepic, and Maz. Alas, it may have to wait. I'lll know more after the weekend and maybe postpone the trip until the last 2 weeks in July.
Thanks for the news about the weather in Maz. The heat combined with humidity is what gets me the most. But I can stand it as long as I can find relief in A/C occassionally.
