Mr. George Enriquez

Greetings,

My wife and I would like to consider retiring in the Lake Chapala area and want to plan a brief visit to begin explore the idea. We found the website of Mr. George Enriquez who proposes to do it all for us -- make arrangements, tour, advise, etc. Would you recommend Mr. Enriquez? Or would you care to make other recommendations?

Thank you very much

I don't know Sr. Enriquez, but I'd say just arrive, follow your nose around the area, chat with some of the folk you'll almost inevitably run into and find the Lakeside that appeals to you. That's the way we did it and we had just a splendid time. Look on this site's archives and you'll learn a lot.

I am not familar with this person, but I am familar with the area, and the way I went about my first trip down..I made an arrangement at a B&B, in the village..Took a taxi to Lakeside,(about $25), settled into the room, unpacked, and started to walk around..a little bit more distance each day, and it was a hoot..Great place..I don't think you need someone to show you around the village, it's all walkable, but watch the cobblestones..the bus to Jocotopec, and Chapala, runs every 15 mnutes, and is great..Have a sense of direction and adventure..I'n not go with anyone ,initially, but after I got a lay of the land..Pick a good B&B, Swan Inn, Casa Flores, Casa Blanca. all will tell you where to go and help you more than an apparent tour guide...
