Hi RockyDog,
Home Depot is on the corner of Lopez Mateos and something. Just take the Periferrico to Lopez Mateos, and exit to the right. Home Depot will come up on your right hand side.

The Home Depot Store is located on the east side of López Mateos Sur, just north of the Periférico, on the southeast corner of López Mateos and Camino al I.T.E.S.O. For further reference, Camino al I.T.E.S.O. is a four-lane divided avenue with trees in the middle and Plaza Las Fuentes (a shopping mall) is located on the northeast corner of the same intersection. If you get to the glorieta at Avenida Las Fuentes, you've gone a block too far north.

Thanks for both replies. Now we can get our Home Depot "fix" without having to drive to Culican
since we are coming down to Guad in a few weeks!

Thank you verymuch for the directions...I have printed them off and put in hubby's folder of "things to do and places to go" --- all part of the campaign....

However he will not be happy to read the thread on limited asparagus, brocolli and lettuce on his whopper......if there are no brussel sprouts I will really have a problem,

He's at Home Depot once/twice a week so it'll be familiar but different...just the way I want our next life to be.....

Best, Anita

Ken & Anita:

What's this about limited brocolli, asparagus and brussels sprouts? We buy brocolli all the time here, asparagus is very often available and usually the small, delicious aparagus. We don't always find brussel sprouts but run into them here and there. We are big brussel sprout fans so alway buy them when we see them.

I eat Whoppers all the time when in Guadalajara and don't remember whether there was lettuce on them or not. If they skip the mayo, tomatoes or onions, God help them. Lettuce, including the Iceburg they use on Whoppers is available all the time in Jalisco.

What is disappointing down here is the tomatoes which are usually Romas or some sort of cardboard tomato that is practically inedible. They do grow pretty good tomatoes-on-the-vine here but ship most of them to the U.S.

Oh, and lemons are very hard to find since Mexicans don't use them as far as I can tell. Try Costco for real lemons and tomatoes-on-the-vine.
