If they seem to be chewing on you at night, check at Guadalajara pharmacy for the little plug in bug repellants with the pot of liquid, not the paper like insert. Plug in when you go to bed and they work quite well. We use them on the terrace when we have parties at night.

The mosquitos here (not nearly as bad as some parts of Canada and the U.S.) are active mainly at dusk and evening. At those times, we don't sit out on the terrace. Plus we keep the screens closed on the house. Other than that, you should have no problems.

Hi Nikki, For a response to have any meaning you will have to be a little more specific.
For example; Consider substituting United States or Canada for Mexico in your question.
The answers would differ if you compared southern Florida with North Dakota. Also, the mosquito problem would not be the same in Ontario as it would be in Inuvik.
Re temperature, check out CNN or any other weather site for weather information.
Best Wishes, Juan
