traps for sewer gas

I want to ask why the Mexicans don't put drain traps in for sewer gas. Is this just a local thing or is it nation wide? Also- is in not beneficial to put copper plumbing pipe in conduit? The lime in the cement seems to corrode it.

Many homes have drain traps.

The important thing in dealing with copper pipes in the slab is to be sure the copper does not touch the rebar -- this can be deadly to the pipes. The concrete is much less of a problem. In my projects I did the best I could to minimumize the pipes in the concrete.

I put a simple plastic saucer over the drain in my shower and that seems to keep the odor down. The lav has a trap and, of course, the stool's is builtin. The cleaning lady, however, persists in removing the saucer while cleaning and not replacing it. Miguelito

There are shower drains with a built in trap. You could probably replace your drain with a trapped version.

Even my funky minimalist apartment has a gas trap in the shower but most people aren't familiar with the shape. It's a cone shaped thing and doesn't look like the normal p-trap.
