Car problems so we had to eat at a new local restaurant

We were on our way back from Marina Mazatlan when the accelerator cable broke on my 92 VW bug. We limped about 8 miles to my mechanic who is near the state offices. While he jumped on the problem immediately, we walked down toward the big office building where there are several restaurants that serve the folks who work there and others who have to wait for their paperwork. We stopped at a new place and it turned out to be a great surprise. For 30 pesos we had the following: A large glass of Horchata, a clear chicken broth with rice, julienned carrots and zuchinni, then came a plate of fish(mojo de ajo), a sort of cold macaroni and cheese salad, a regular salad with lettuce, cukes, tomate and avacado plus a few more julienned cooked carrots (cooked crisp..perfect). The meal was served on decorative ceramic plates. I'm stuffed!

Is this the open air restaurant on the back side of the new Drivers Licensing building (across the street from the big office building) with outside seating? I am trying to place it. Thanks.
Marlene.

It's at the far north end of all the restaurants/shops, across the street from the state building..yes it's open air. As you walk in, the kitchen is to the right. It might have been a car wash before it was transformed to a restaurant.

Thanks, I think it is the same one we have eaten at too, but only breakfast (which was quite good) since our business was earlier in the day. We will have to try the lunch you described. It sounds very ample for 30 pesos. Good idea to have a full stomach before tackling the never ending line ups in that government building. Thanks for the dining tip!

They open at 8:00 AM and then the esposo said they close at 6:00pm but the esposa (concinera) told me "not so"...they close at 3:30PM because the rest of the time is spent cleaning up. He must have forgotten about that part :-)
