Warm Weather on the Coast!

Can't Post | Private Reply
Today was a VERY warm day here in Mazatlán. The forecasts via the websites mentioned expecting temperatures slightly above 31 degrees. In reality, the temperature out by the airport climbed to 38 today in the mid afternoon. We were guided into the air conditioned side of the restaurant. Down by the ocean, I noted 35 degrees at 4:30 pm. (A tad warm for this time of year) The breezes "ocean-side" (sorry, couldn't resist) disguised the temperature nicely however inland at Villa Union and the airport it felt as HOT as it was. We will be making a trip this week to the mechanico to have the air conditioning recharged. I was thinking another month or two would pass before these temperatures hit. Could be a long summer shaping up. Seems there is peculiar weather everywhere around the globe. I still am receiving reports of snow from folks in Canada. How soon we forget!

I didn't even notice the warm weather as we have a week at Pueblo Bonito donated by an old friend of mine from Oregon. A very kind gesture indeed and on the 4th floor, the breezes make the use of A/C unnecessary. I can say this hotel is one of Mazatlan's finest. Compared to our apartment it's like a palace. We sit on the veranda and sip our drinks in the evening and early in the morning it's our own brand of expresso coupled with the usual whole wheat cinamon rolls from the natural food bakery on Zaragosa. What a treat! You said it was hot in old town? What a shame! Tah, tah from the north end!

Hola, Esteban...does Pueblo Bonito offer rooms by the night? If so, would you be kind enough to post their web and/or street address? TIA, Dutch

I'm sure they do...just put in Pueblo Bonito Mazatlan into google.com and you'll go directly to their webpage. It's a nice place. Have fun.

That is warm indeed.
Too warm.
Meanwhile here on the Pacific Coast at Vancouver Island a little north of you we are enjoying the best weather imaginable.Nary a cloud in the sky and temps around 19 with a light breeze. The whole island is covered in blossoms as it seems even bushes that normally don't blossom are covered this year.Dogwood trees are covered with their white flowers everywhere and azaleas and rhodos are competing with huge swathes of our native pink rose.Sumptuous!
We read your posts during our grey winters with considerable envy but starting at this time of year this place is paradise clean through to November.
I suppose a good blend of here and there each year is a prescription for much enjoyment.

Well, summer is on the way. The humidity is increasing and we can feel the heat over this time last week. We were hoping for a bit of rain from the first tropical storm Agatha, but she dissipated and gave us nothing more than a few clouds and a few more waves. So we are settling in for a long warm humid summer, with each passing day. The air conditioners can be heard throughout the neighbood in the last few days (evenings). I swear it was mid June before we caved in and turned it on last year.
Not complaining as I take in some of the Canadian weather forecasts each day.
