receive calls on broadband phone/UDP question

I would like to use Vonage or some other broadband phone service, but have not been successful so far. The reason I cannot receive calls, according to iconnecthere.com is that "UDP protocol is not supported by your Internet Provider and only TCP protocol." I have Prodigy Infinitum. A call to technical support did not resolve the issue, though they promised to send someone out on Monday to fix it. They didn't. Does anyone have any ideas about this?

The good news is that IconnectHere works with Prodigy. That bad news is that I don't have an answer for you. I bet there are others out there who are more adept at VOIP and User Datagram Protocol than I, who can help you

I don't understand your problem? Are you signed up with Vonnage?Many people I know with Prodigy Infinium have Vonnage or Packet6. It works very well. Packet6 is half the price of Vonnage.

Teri, call Martín Leal at 766-1788 (or cellular 013-150-09-24). IMHO, he's the best computer tech in the Lake Chapala area. He's done things for me with my hardware that seemed impossible, and he's quite familiar with most software as well. It sounds as though you might have something as simple as a firewall problem going on, and he'd surely know how to fix whatever it turns out to be. By the way, he also speaks English.

Thanks, does he speak Spanish, too? Because that would be very helpful if he has to talk to Prodigy.
