Far out question, but I am going to ask anyway!

I just recently received my Vonage modem. I intend to bring it in my car with my laptop when I cross into Mexico. Is the modem considered a part of my laptop or do I need to declare it and pay tax? I am assuming that I do not have to declare my laptop, because I am allowed to carry it in. I had rather ask this question now than screw up at the last minute.

Thanks

Don

Personally, I would call it part of the laptop. Several years ago I brought a portable and a printer; no one said a word about it.

Thanks Rolly, that's pretty much my opinion also. A modem seems just like an extension of the laptop. Thanks again for you opinion.
