One more question about scorpions

I'm wondering about the scorpions. We have them here in Texas but its much warmer than the Ajijic/Lake Chapala area. With such a temperate climate, I was surprised to read that scorpions are there. Is this true? Sorry to belabor a topic from last week, but I just got into this site and was wondering.
We are planning a trip to Ajijic in December and very excited to see this area as a possible retirement choice.
Thanks for your answers!

Yes: they are small, and for the average person, their bite doesn't seem as bad as a bee sting. We've had one in our house: killed it with a flyswatter. They're about 2 inches, pale tan, and not terribly aggressive - unless you step on them or bump into them. For those who are allergic to them, local clinics can help. They don't seem to be a big deal.

Thank you! That sounds like what we have here which are no problem. We get about 6 a year in the house depending on how rainy it gets. I usually throw them back outside so they'll eat bugs. My cat, however, doesn't like them at all!
Georgia - how long have you lived there?

I've only owned a home here a little over a year. I've been coming down here regularly since -- ah -- 1954! (my, time flies)
