Is there a Home Depot in Queretaro? If so, where is it? I know where Home Mart is.

I've only heard of the HomeMart in Queretaro, though I did here there are Home Depots someplace else in Mexico. Maybe check out the Home Depot website and see if they give addresses for their international stores?

One of my favorite read-aloud books for children is Arnold Lobel's Mouse Soup in which the weasel which catches the story's hero gleefully announces "I'm going to make mouse soup for dinner". The hero replies with somewhat less enthusiasm "I'm going to be mouse soup for dinner".

In a similar vein, the Home Mart in Queretaro will be the Home Depot in Queretaro shortly, as Home Depot announced their agreement to aquire the Mexican Home Mart chain today, 05/13/04, with the plan to discard the Home Mart name and rebrand the stores as Home Depots after a transition and retraining period. The press release announcing the aquisition listed the current location of Home Depot stores in Mexico as:

ex-Total HOME
- Monterrey
- Mexico City

ex-Del Norte
- Ciudad Juarez (x4)

Home Depot constructed stores
- Mexicali
- Culiacan
- San Luis Potosi
- Monterrey
-Tijuana
- Leon
- Chihuahua

A new Home Depot is almost ready to open in Torreón about a mile from an existing HomeMart. I wonder if they'll keep them both. My bet is that the HomeMart site will be sold. It's in a very high rent area next door to IMSS's largest hospital complex in the area.

Same thing in Tampico. The new Home Depot should be within a couple of months of opening (building looks complete from the outside). There's an existing Home Mart in another part of town.

This clears up the rumor I kept hearing about Queretaro and Home Depot. I found the Bodera Aurrora which is Walmarts lower end warehouse. Thanks for the info.
