You Must Change - D.F. or Cuernavaca

Best bet is to change in D.F. - You might be able to get a direct bus from Cuernavaca as well.
Cheers

You may also need to change bus terminals in the DF. If possible, try for a bus from Taxco to the TAPO terminal instead of the usual Mexico City Sur station. However, you may be able to get a bus to Puebla from the south station, although they will be less frequent. Check ADO bus line.
Do not get into a random taxi in the DF, buy a taxi ticket in the bus station, and take it to the official taxi stand.
Richard

: Anybody know if there is a direct bus from Taxco to Puebla or is it all via DF ? Within the last two weeks, I visited in CAPU, the Puebla bus station, with a tri-lingual German tourist and her German friend who lives in DF. The tourist was going on to Oaxaca, and the friend was taking a first class bus to Sur in DF.
I am pretty sure if buses run from Puebla to Sur, they also run from Sur to Puebla. That's how the bus system works in Mexico.
Puebla is such a common destination that the top bus lines run buses to most of DF bus stations, as well as the international airport. Instead of running around by taxi, wander around your DF bus station a few minutes looking for a bus to Puebla before you head for that authorized taxi stand. The extra cost for the bus is usually less than the taxi cost, not to mention the time spent in the taxi.

A member of my Mexican family has told me there are direct buses from Cuernavaca to Puebla without going through DF. Alas, I do not know if they are first class, but would suspect one will take a lot longer going through DF. Look at a map.
Even if the bus passed through DF (which I do not believe) the time going to the DF station, getting your luggage, and buying another ticket, then waiting for the next bus will be considerable.
