When I came to Morelia to visit my family and friends in late February I came with the phone number for AA (alcolicos anonimos). I was certain I would find meetings. I also looked up the number for AA in the local phone book, but when I called that number no one answered. When I called the number I'd found on the Mexican AA website, I was told by the woman who answered that there had just been a conference, but there were no meetings. Gulp. But then when I got to Playa Azul, I found meetings almost every day, and numerous meetings in Melaque tambien.
I realized that the number I had was probably for some kind of headquarters and that I probably just got the wrong person on the phone. But I'm looking at heading back to Morelia for the summer and I'm wondering if someone can assure me that there are plenty of AA meetings in town. And just how do I find them? Spanish speaking meetings work just fine for me.
