Cab fare?

Can't Post |
My niece and her husband will be coming down for a visit next month. I don't have a vehicle at this time nor will I until late Nov.
I've never taken a cab from airport.
Does any one know how much the cab fare is from GDL airport to ajijic and ajijic to airport?
Is there a ceartain cab Co. they should take?<p>Appreciate it...thanks

As you exit the doors, on each end, just outside, are Controlled Taxi stands. You tell the man in the booth, and he gives you a ticket Price is fixed by the radius or distance from the airport.
I think they even speak some English. To Ajiic, I think is a bit over 220 pesos. To Chapala, it was 200 pesos last time I took it. There is no haggeling, taxis are controlled, in good shape and safe. I think you can pay in dollars, get change in pesos TGip is optional. Rates increase at night.

It's about $20 plus tip. I have the name of a cab driver here in town if you want it. He speaks perfect English. Let me know if you want it.

At the airport they sell tickets for the cab. The
price is all standard and it is simpler to take one
from the lineup of cabs rather than have a driver meet you.

Prefer being met by local driver

It costs about $5 more than an airport cab, however, you can trust this driver and , unlike most of the airport drivers, he is familiar with the street addresses of Ajijic and can drive straight there. The airport drivers often spend an extra 30 minutes driving around all of Ajijic trying to find the desired address.

The Continental flight arriving at 10:40 P.M. is not the only late flight, and by the time you're through Immigration and Customs, get your luggage, pay your fare at the cab box, and get to Ajijic, it's getting late and there's no one on the atreet to ask directions. Unless you already know your way around, it's a lot easier to have a local driver like Carlos waiting to pick up you and your bags and take you directly to your hotel or B&B. Easier, quicker and less scary.
