Honest, professional realtor (and notario) in Playa Del Carmen

Hi, I'm coming down to Playa Del Carmen (QROO) in late March / early April and I'm looking to hook up with a good realtor or two.

I'll be looking for something to buy and/or rent in PDC or Playcar in the Oct/Nov 2004 timeframe.

I'd like to meet/interview one or two realtors, look at some properties for sale and rent while discussing my options for handling a good portion of the transaction over the phone between this visit and Oct/Nov.

I may need or want to rent at first for a month or two (in Oct/Nov) while looking for something to buy or maybe just find something right away in March/April.

I'd like to find a realtor that doesn't deal strictly to Americans (ie. possibly higher prices). The property will be purchased by my wife, a Mexican (currently living in the states, but orginally from chilangolandia! D.F.), and myself (gringo).

So if anyone has any recommendations for realtors that you've had good experiences with that is communicative and helpful for the process of a first-time home buyer in Mexico, please recommend.

I too would like some information about real estate brokers in the Mayan Riviera. Preferably in Cancun or Playa del Carmen. I have a fiancée who lives in Cancun and is Mexican. She will be doing all the transactions beings she knows the value of real estate there better than I.

I presently live and own property in Ontario, Canada and am planing on moving to the Cancun area. I already have submitted questions concerning Canadians moving to Mexico, though if you have any advice, or information you might think would be important to me, plase let me know.

Thanks in advance.

I would think that your fiancee would be the one for you to ask.

Thanks Mr. Smith for your reply,

I have talked to her about it, and I was merely searching for more options other than what we have found. I was only there for two weeks during Christmas and with all the festivity there was little time left for real estate shopping, also she doesn't drive so transportation was an issue with what time we did have. I did get some brochures from real estate companies, though their base of opperations is in Mexico City and have no internet support for that area. I am not in any hurry, I would just like to have some figures and models to have something to judge by when I do move there.
