I"ve been told that this system can receive as far south as Guad. Anybody know if that's a true story?

Yep, and much farther south. There are several posts about XM radio already listed in the tech forum. Just search the headers or the posts. You should find much helpful information therein. If you can't figure out how to do the search, post again in the tech forum and we will help you.

We got good reception in the Guad/Lake Chapala area this fall. We had spotty reception in the mountains north-west of Mexico City as we were driving towards the city. We've also had spotty reception between Villahermosa and Escarcega on our way to the Yucatan. Other than that, reception has been excellent all through Mexico and Belize.
