Can't Post | Private Reply
We were sceduled to leave Guadalajara at 8am Feb. 28 on America West. The airline just called and said they were told America West would be cutting flights out of Guadalajara back to one, at 5:15 pm.

We've just seen on the internet that Frontier Airlines is expanding its Mexican flights and that Guadalajara should be soon on their schedule. I can hardly wait - we're Continental flyers and Houston has gotten unbelievably difficult. The last time, my husband, Canadian-born, was in a line of more than 500 "foreigners", waiting to get through Customs. I can only hope that Denver, and Frontier, would be a heck of a lot better!
Sorry about America West.

Peggy, we'll be sure to look into Frontier our next trip. I don't mind spending an extra day in Mexico but not looking forward to having to spend a night in Phoenix.

When we ordered our tickets we were scheduled to leave Guadalajara at 8am & return to St. Louis at 4:30 pm . Now we don't leave Guad till 5:15 pm with no connecting flights to St. Louis till the next day so will have to spend the night in Phoenix. I would cancel them but now it'll probably really cost us.

"Recently, the 20-year-old company began transcontinental service between Los Angeles, Boston, New York and San Francisco. It also added more routes to Mexico, Canada and Costa Rica"

"I wouldn't be too concerned about America West beginning a period of explosive growth," said Garfinkle..."

I would be too concerned about any airline that talked about explosive growth. Sheesh, what a stupid choice of words.

Hi folks. It's snowing out and I want to come home. After reading the America West post I immediately phoned them up and asked if they had any room on their flights from Vancouver to Guad on the first few days of January. I expected them to say no. Flights on other airlines were relatively full. They had plenty of room on the 2 PM flights going south. Maybe that's why they are cutting back.

Another thing. It's not America West that flies between Guad and their hub in Phoenix, it's a "code share", something like Mesa Airlines, at least on the flights I have taken with them.

Hi Pete,
Glad you're coming Home.
Your 2 PM flight has just been cancelled and there is only the flight out at 5:15 PM which means you have to spend the night in Phoenix.
Jejeje, couldn't resist.
And just be glad it's not Houston.

It must be nice to have such great weather down there in Ajijic. I had to drive 20 miles down to Sea level away from a foot of snow and no telephone service (telephone lines down) to a Starbucks wireless internet connection just to check my email.

They have had wireless internet here in MODERN NW Washington for 8 months.

We've had it in Ajijic for more than 3 years
