Building Project Update for 13 December 2003

We completed the downstairs bathroom. It looks really nice. Doņa Martha is delighted, and so am I. We were able to fit in a bathtub with only one inch to spare. I don't know how common or uncommon bathtubs are in Mexico, but this is the only one I have seen.

The plaster guys are about half way done. I am hoping they'll finish by Christmas, but they are going so slowly.

Until the plaster work is done, there is little for my crew to do, so they are now working over at Las Casas on the only thing we left undone over there -- baseboards. We are installing a 3" high tile trim on the bottom of all the walls. The houses have been occupied for only five months, and already the bottoms of the walls are showing discolorations from mopping.

The cabinet maker has finally finished the last of the bathroom cabinets for Las Casas. Thank goodness that's over. Of course we still have cabinets and doors to do for Doņa Martha's house.
