Life in Patzcuaro

We're considering a year in Patzcuaro with our two kids (9 & 11). We've visited the town and a couple of schools, but we're curious about daily life and activities. We found a cultural center at an ex-convent and one spanish language school (CELEP). What other sorts of organized activities and culture go on in the town? Know any residents we could correspond with?
