For what its worth this is quoted from the business section of the Tampa Tribune of 8 Oct 02. "Ferry Prices Set. Scotia Prince Cruises on Monday announced prices for its twice weekly ferry service from the PORT OF TAMPA TO THE YUCATAN PENINSULA ports of MORELOS and PROGRESO which start Nov. 22 at 5 p.m.
Seven-day cruise-hotel round trip packages start at $299 and 11-and 14-day vacation packages are $359 to $469. A round-trip passage only ticket will cost $120. Vehicle fares start at $298 per round trip. For information, call 1-866-466-3935."

Just called. Call centre still doesn't have pricing information or ability to reserve. Sounds like the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Doesn't bode well...

i, too called, and my reservation for 11/22 was accepted, and had a nice chat with the
reservation agent.the only qualification was that i should receive my confirmation in 3-4 days because their system to respond had not been fully set up

yes, i provided my cc info
the company previously operated a ferry to yucatan, and although i won't claim i'm 100% sure, i think it's a serious attempt to start a long forgotten aspect of traveling to mexicothey're using the same ship used in new england during the summer and the complementation of winter service to the yucatan makes a lot of sensei booked the cheapest way to cross - and i figure it'll save me about $500 plus wear and tear of driving 3000 miles from miamiI wish them well

What number did you call? And who answered? I just noticed the 1-866 number in the original posting (from the Tampa Tribune) is not the one on the website at www.yucatanexpress.com. When I called Yucatan Express at 1-866-670-3939, they had no means to price me a passage nor the ability to reserve. What the heck is going on?

mexico's heaviest tourist season is fall/winterI'd love to see a permanent ferry service
but i'll temporarily settle for a knowledable, experienced operator trying to utilize their ferry

Since this is an inaugural run, you should be booking your passage with the operator of the ship, not some two-bit travel agency trying to look flashy with a fancy website (www.mexicoferry.com). The information provided by Mr. Johnson is correct. I called Yucatan Express (aka Scotia Prince) yesterday to verify.
