Health Insurance for foreigners

Can't Post | Private Reply
I got a couple of really great responses privately on my inquiry about real estate in Lake Chapala area. Thanks.

Now for the last important question. Is there good affordable health insurance available in Mexico? I already know that the hospitals can be quite good. Can anyone direct me to a site that can give details on insurance?

Thanks

Short answer--yes.

Longer answer--you better shop around.

Go to the search feature and type in IMSS to get comments and articles about the Mexican Healthcare plan. Some like it, some don't. I can't qualify so all I can go on is the experiences of friends, and all were satisfied with the treatment they received.

I've had minor surgeries performed, sophisticated tests run, and consultations with GPs, specialists, and homeopaths and been satisfied with both the expertise and the personal care and attention offered. And the prices were quite reasonable.

Miz T just bought a policy from a U.S. based company (NOT the one that used to be offered through LCS) that provides coverage in both the U.S. and Mexico at a rate much lower than it would have been up North.

Hope this helps.
