Taking Rifles and pistols into Mexico

Well as most things go with Mexico the answer to this question is different with each person I talk to.I am in the process of obtaining my FM3 and Menje de Casa. While speaking with the poeple at the Mexican Embassy here in San Antonio I have been getting conflicting information, From this is strickly not permissible , to with a Federal permit it is possible, and that it is easy to do, all I need is a federal permit but the only calibers allowed are 32 and smaller as anything larger is only for the Military and civilians are not allowed to posses them. Anyone in the know here ? any help is much appriciated

I beleive he was asking for information, not your permission.
Pistols is not a good idea...large calibre pistols (over .32, really) are a MAJOR no no--mark you for theft if nothing else.
You can get licenses for hunting rifles and shotguns, check with consulate, etc.

Non-Sequitur.
Where does it say anything in either post about asking or granting permission to do anything?
