menaje de casa

I have a question about the menaje de casa. I seem to be confused by what the next step is. I have my FM3 from the San Francisco consulate. Bekins is my mover and they know they need to provide the menaje de casa and the necessary copies. Do I have to take it to the consulate for approval. Or do I just have to give the consulate the address where I will be residing. I have gotten through everything else but.. Leaving soon to drive to Playa Del Carmen.

Chances are Bekins might handle everything . I know last year I shipped my household goods to Cozumel through Mayflower. I did not have to do anything regarding a "menaje de casa". They (Mayflower) got a photocopy of my FM3 and said "don't worry that's all we need". No Problem...No Taxes, 22,000 pounds 10 days door to door.Maybe you can ask to speak to the International Coordinator or Specialist that is handling your move at Bekins. Their local office may not know EXACTLY what is going on behind the scenes. I was worrying the hell out of Mayflowers local people, telling them "wait a minute, I heard I had to do all this stuff is Spanish" and "I think I have to make a trip to the Consulate with my list for approval". They finally put me in touch with the International Guy. He reminded me "this is ALL WE DO...EVERYDAY". No hitches.
DavidG
: I have a question about the menaje de casa. The movers get stamped, approved copies. I found it was handy to have extra Xerox copies. Good luck on your move. Bien viaje!
