I sure hope someone is this group can answer this. I do know that folks keep things longer here and try to repair them rather than throwing things away and buying new like we do up North. When I was in a repair shop in Guadalajara about five years ago, the repairman had a collection of radio tubes for sale. He said that usually he did not sell them directly but used them when repairing faulty equipment.
