"Miraculous Air" -- C.M. Mayo

Lots of books are written about Mexico, but frankly few of them have staying power. “Miraculous Air” is one that is simply outstanding and will endure as long as its theme – Baja California. It’s more than simply travel literature – it’s a memoir of place and time. Author C.M. Mayo (”Sky over El Nido”) embarks upon more than simply a journey through Baja; she takes the reader back through Baja’s history, geography, economics, and personages.

This book sat on my shelf for about 3 months, before got around to picking it up, just because Baja just wasn’t all that appealing to me. But once I started reading, I could not put it down. The book transcends Baja.

Excerpts and more can be found at Mayo’s website – http://www.cmmayo.com

Gracias for the critique and the recomendation. I'm always looking for a good read while lounging on my patio in Bucerias as the sea air wafts through my senses. Although I experience the "Miraculous Air" of Mexico's Pacific coast daily, I'm certain a well-written metaphor will help keep my spirits fortified.
